⚠⚠ 357 is NOT the same as LR44. Both are 11.6mm × 5.4mm and fit the same devices, but LR44 is alkaline (1.5V declining) while 357/SR44 is silver oxide (1.55V stable). In a watch, using LR44 instead of 357 will cause the movement to run slow. Always use 357/SR44 in watches and precision devices.

Silver oxide vs alkaline — does it matter?
Always use silver oxide in watches — not alkaline. Alkaline equivalents have a declining voltage curve — your watch will run slower as the battery drains. Silver oxide maintains a steady 1.55V until nearly depleted, giving accurate timekeeping throughout its life.
